Elisar Riddelin: Loviatar – Concerto for violin and orchestra (world premiere)
Serge Rachmaninov: Symphony no. 2 in E minor op. 27
Elisar Riddelin is one of Finland’s most interesting young composers, and his violin concerto Loviatar is certain to make an impression. Named after the goddess of death in Finnish mythology, the concerto is performed by the Turku Philharmonic’s 1st Leader Matti Koponen. A world premiere is something special: be one of the first to hear a new composition take shape! Rachmaninov’s Second Symphony is his best-known orchestral work, and Joonas Pitkänen is certain to give it a charismatic and memorable performance.
