Year 2020 marked the 75th anniversary of the Moomin characters, created by Tove Jansson and loved by Finns for decades. This celebratory concert features orchestral arrangements of songs from the disc Muumiperheen lauluretki [The Moomin Family song picnic], which received the Emma Prize for Best Children’s Album in 2015. With lyrics by Hannele Huovi and music by Soil Perkiö, the songs appeal to all Moomin lovers young and old, ranging from the tunes of Snufkin’s flute to the rap music of Little My. Arrangements by Matti Kallio. Between the songs, Eija Ahvo and Markus Bäckman tell exciting stories about the songs and presents the instruments playing on stage.
